The release of NorrCompetition 1.4.0
We are pleased to announce the release of the next major version of NorrCompetition that includes several new features and bug fixes.
What's new?
Voting in the list of entries
This feature will allow your website users to vote in the list of entries. The vote button will be displayed under each photo and users can vote one bu one for every entry. By default it is disabled and you should enable Voting parameter in the Entries tab of component settings or in Layout Options of contest settings.
ACL enhancement
This feature is the result of a forum request. A new permission Create Before Competition Start was added and it allows users to create and submit entries after contest has been created, but not yet started.
By default it is denied, so you will need to allow it if required.
reCAPTCHA support
Now you can additionally display captcha to users that will protect the voting from bots. It can be displayed on the entry page only. Please refer to Entry Layout Options document. Note that only Google reCAPTCHA v2 is supported. Do not forget to setup and enable reCAPTCHA plugin.
Short contest description
When you create a contest you can now define a short contest description. This will be displayed in the list of contests. If it is not defined then normal description is displayed.
Bug fixes
Two minor bugs were fixed in this new release:
- Untranslated field label in completed contest;
- Facebook share. Thanks stako for report.
