Hello

I am going to start a competition in March.

I have three categories (k1, k2, k3)

and there is only one prize. A total of ten votes can be cast across all photos.

How would you set this up?

I have set up three competitions (k1, k2, k3).

I activate them via the entrie module, where I can display all three competitions.

Will the votes then be cast across all competitions?

The photos are displayed. When I click on the photo to enlarge it, I am taken to the category list display. This is not ideal.

What can you recommend?

The site must also be fast, as over 1,000 photos will be participating in the competition.

Can you please help me?

Hi Sonja!

Votes cannot be cast across all competitions. So you cannot split 10 votes between them. But you can split 9 votes - for example 3 votes per competition.

But probably I have a better idea for you.

Use one competition and create a list field for entries. For example the name of the field can be "Kategory" and three options for it:

K1 - Kinder sehen die Natur

K2 - Tiere in ihrem Lebensraum

K3 - Pflanzen, Landschaften und Naturphänomene

Then you can assign this field to entries and display this field in the list of entries. Set it in the Contest > Layout Options > Entry Field. It will look like this https://postimg.cc/JGMc29FG

I would like to import the data into the competition.

What exactly do you need from me? I can provide the data in an Excel list, or I also have the data in the database in a table with a link to the IMGFile.

Hi Sonja!

Good. You can also display field Kategorie in the list of entries. Set it in the Contest > Layout Options > Entry Field > Kategorie

Regarding .uk-icon.uk-text-middle - something strange is happening. On another browser icons does not look good with vertical-align: unset !important;. I think you should play around with CSS to get best result here.

If you would like to import the data into the competition then I think I can possibly write a one-time script to import the data from the Excel list. Overall the list should contain columns: "Entry name", "Kategorie" and the link to image file. But it is a custom commercial job that is outside of our support. Let me check, is it possible or not and I will contact you by email mail at sonjaborer.ch regarding the import.
