Hi Dmitrijs,
Thanks for your reply.
An Edit state addition would be welcome, but in my humble opinion, a user should always have full control over their uploads.
In our case, we plan to use NorrCompetition in two different ways.
The first will be to host weekly design competitions where users upload their work. They won’t be happy with the fact that they can’t delete their own submissions and may feel that the site is holding their work hostage.
The second way we plan to use it is by having open galleries where users can upload their work without a voting round. Our current galleries contain more than 40,000 designs, and we’re in the process of migrating these to NorrCompetition.
Users delete items all the time for various reasons, and although an Edit state will be great, users own their work. Not allowing them to remove their own uploads doesn’t feel right, as it implies ownership by the website.
The only way around this would be a user to request deletion of an upload by contacting the site admin who then manually has to remove it.
Ideally, it would have "Delete own" in Permissions in contests, allowing users to delete their uploads if they want to.
