How does the payment integration work for the end customer?

The customer is redirected from the shop to an external checkout page, where the payment is processed. Once the payment is complete, the customer is redirected back to the shop, and the order status is updated accordingly.

All sensitive payment information, including card details, is processed on the PostFinance Checkout side.

Does it support TWINT?

Yes. Customers can pay using TWINT during checkout.

Which versions of VirtueMart and Joomla are supported?

The plugin is compatible with the latest versions of Joomla 6 and VirtueMart 4. The minimum supported versions are Joomla 3 (end of life) and VirtueMart 4.

Can customers pay using SOFORT or Klarna?

PostFinance Checkout does not offer Klarna as a standard, directly integrated payment method. However, SOFORT Banking, which is owned by Klarna, is listed among the supported payment methods.

Is PostFinance Checkout available to merchants outside Switzerland?

The platform requires merchants to have a business presence or an account in Switzerland.

Does the product contain any encrypted code?

No. The PostFinance Checkout payment plugin for VirtueMart does not contain any encrypted code.
